Friday Afternoon Roundup - Obama's Coronation, Israel's Struggle

As we mark the countdown toward the ridiculously extravagant $150,000,000 Obama inauguration, Obama's radical millionaire donors and a few of the hoi polloi are preparing to party like it's 1999, even while the economy is looking distinctly 1989.

Obama's lavish display of wealth is all the more obscene, coming at a time when hundreds of thousands of workers are losing their jobs and many families, including those who were foolish enough to vote for him, are struggling to make ends meet.

It is particularly obscene at a time when Obama himself is talking about everyone having to make sacrifices. Clearly that doesn't extend to him. Neither does paying taxes, as his choice of treasury secretary, a man who committed tax fraud, demonstrates.

The same lapdog media which frenziedly jumped on even the faintest hint of scandal surrounding Palin, can barely be bothered to report that the man whose responsibilities will include the IRS committed tax fraud.

Of course this is the same media that thinks the big story on Eric Holder is that he opposes waterboarding, not that he worked to help terrorists.

This letter to the Boston Globe says it best.

TIMOTHY GEITHNER, President-elect Obama's nominee for Treasury secretary, did not pay Social Security and Medicare taxes for four years, despite having been instructed in a handbook by his employer, the International Monetary Fund, on how to pay his self-employment taxes. And the Obama transition team knew of this when it nominated Geithner in November

We have a financial system meltdown, and Obama decides to put someone who failed to pay his taxes in charge of the cleanup - and in charge of oversight of the IRS!

Most self-employed people, such as I, pay hefty Social Security taxes quarterly. To appoint Geithner would send a message that it's OK not to pay these taxes - that is, unless you get caught.

And that is exactly the message Obama is sending, no accountability. Even when you get caught. If Obama's campaign has any theme, that's it.

What was it Joe Biden said about paying taxes being patriotic again?

Timothy Geithner is being put in charge of the Treasury when his own record shows that he is either incompetence when it comes to financial matters, or criminally negligent. Either one should unqualifiedly disqualify him for the job.

But like the rest of Obama's Cabinet Junta, including Holder who worked to help cop-killing terrorists and subverted the system he will now run, Hillary Clinton, who together with her husband has taken money from half the world and will now be Secretary of State, Timothy Geithner is a perfect paradigm for the corruption the Obama era is ushering in.

The real theme is put those in charge of the system who have abused the system.

Some liberals who voted for Obama are starting to wake up to just how Obama has exploited them. Sadly many "mainstream" Conservatives seem all too willing to be gulled by the Prince of Chicago.

When Obama's $150,000,000 coronation takes place, a crown of shameless greed will be planted on the brow of corruption, ushering in the same sort of royal corruption that inspired the original American Revolution.

Meanwhile in Israel, the operation seems set to fizzle out far short of its goal of taking out Hamas. Much as I predicted all along. Between the Obama deadline which will mean that a ceasefire will be negotiated by Obama's Pro-Hamas State Department team, and the inability of the left wing politicians running Israel to go the distance, we have another Lebanon.

The IDF has proven this time that it has what it takes. The Israeli public has proven that it has what it takes. The politicians once again have proven that they do not.

In the blogsphere roundup,

Atlas notes that Bush was attacked in 2004 for spending a third of what Obama is on his inauguration, and this was in a prosperous economy.

Does anyone recall how disgusting the libtard press was when Bush was inaugurated and the economy was not in dire straits then. This is amazing ......billions on a bleeding country and 150 million celebrating a socialist coup. Oh the irony!

AND Bush has declared a DC emergency for the Inauguration. (from Fox News)

The emergency declaration will let the nation's capital tap deeper into federal coffers for Barack Obama's inauguration.

I wonder how much of that money that will be wasted to throw a spectacle for the Prince of Chicago could have actually helped working families struggling to get by?

Meanwhile Elder of Ziyon has another example of what the Religion of Peace (TM) really pays for.

Ya Allah let the whole community of Christian and Jews, punish them the way that all whole world will see it

As usual with Muslims the spelling may not be there, but the hate is. I can offer plenty of examples from my own YouTube video comments

Solstice13 meanwhile has a classic letter for those who want to close Gitmo.

March 21, 2002

The White House 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue Washington, D.C

Dear Concerned Citizen:

Thank you for your recent letter roundly criticizing our treatment of the
Taliban and ElQaeda detainees currently being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

My Administration takes these matters seriously, and your opinion was heard
loud and clear here in Washington.

You'll be pleased to learn that, thanks to the concerns of citizens like
you, we are creating a new division of the Terrorist Retraining Program, to
be called the "Liberals Accept Responsibility for Killers" program, or LARK
for short. In accordance with the guidelines of this new program, we have
decided to place one terrorist under your personal care.

Your personal detainee has been selected and scheduled for Transportation
under heavily-armed guard to your residence next Monday. Ali Mohammed Ahmed
bin Mahmud (you can just call him "Al") is to be cared for pursuant to the
standards you personally demanded in your letter of admonishment. It will
likely be necessary for you to hire some assistant caretakers. We will
conduct weekly inspections to ensure that your standards of care for Ahmed
are commensurate with those you so strongly recommended in your letter.

If Obama can't find any other place to stick his Gitmo pals, maybe he can put them up at the White House with his mother in law, and his illegal alien aunt.

Bare Naked Islam has two personal perspectives on the Jihad Israel faces, well illustrated too. One of them mine.

Meanwhile at Israel Matzav, despite unprecedented levels of bias in the media and hate on the internet, Americans continue to support Israel in its War on Terror.

A McClatchy/Ipsos poll found that 44 percent of Americans support Israel's use of force, in comparison to 18% who think Hamas's use of force is appropriate. And 57% think the latter is using excessive force - something only 36% believe Israel to be doing.

It's not perhaps what it should be, but it's about as good as the numbers for America's own War on Terror.

YOu said it SK-the Prince of Chicago...some people might be waking up from the hypnotic dream...not enough. I find it sickening that the Oblahblah is spending a fortune, not his mind you, on his party.
from the land of tony, jr, blago, rahmbo and the big O-and, oh yes, oprah.
what a zoo.

Well and boldly said: I hope you are not soon legally harassed or imprisoned by the newly inaugurated "Prince of Chicago." You know the good, old "Chicago Way" folks do not take very kindly to criticism -- no matter how accurate or well-deserved! After all, you have criticized royalty!
