The Ghosts of Auschwitz in the Middle East

In exile in Argentina, the world’s most wanted man was writing a defense of the indefensible.

He rejected “so-called Western culture” whose bible “expressly established that everything sacred came from the Jews.” Instead he looked to the “large circle of friends, many millions of people” whose good opinion of his crimes he wanted.

These millions of people were not in Germany. They weren’t even in Argentina.

His fellow Nazis had abandoned him after deciding that the murder of millions of Jews was indefensible and had to be denied instead of defended. But he did not want to be denied. He wanted to be admired.

“You 360 million Mohammedans to whom I have had a strong inner connection since the days of my association with your Grand Mufti of Jerusalem,” Adolf Eichmann, the architect of the Holocaust wrote. “You, who have a greater truth in the surahs of your Koran, I call upon you to pass judgment on me.”

Eichmann knew he could expect a good verdict from a religion whose prophet had ordered the ethnic cleansing of Jews and which believes the end will “not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them. When a Jew hides behind a rock or a tree, it will say, ‘O Muslim, O servant of Allah! There is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!’”

There was Eichmann’s Hadith Holocaust with even the rocks and trees finding Jews for the Islamic SS.

A more literal judgment came Eichmann’s way five years later in Jerusalem when Israeli agents used extraordinary rendition to seize him and bring him to trial. But the Muslim world had issued its own verdict long ago when the Mufti of Jerusalem had come to Europe urging the extermination of the Jews.

“This is your best opportunity to get rid of this dirty race… Kill the Jews,” the Mufti had ranted to fellow Muslims.

On the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, the ghosts of Eichmann and the Mufti of Jerusalem, who had visited its gas chambers while the Holocaust was underway, still linger there.

A Holocaust survivor in Auschwitz recalled being told that the Mufti’s arrival was a working visit.

“When we have won the war he will return to Palestine to build gas chambers and kill the Jews who are living over there,” an SS officer told him.

Eichmann’s Nazis lost, but the Mufti’s Islamists continue their genocidal agenda. Mein Kampf may be banned in Germany, but it’s a bestseller in the Muslim world.

The edition is often the translation of Louis Heiden aka Luis al-Haj, a Nazi convert to Islam whose introduction proclaims, “National Socialism did not die with the death of its herald. Rather, its seeds multiplied under each star.” The reference was meant literarily. The old Egyptian flag had carried a crescent and three stars on a green field. The new flag of the Arab Republic had two green stars.

Haj worked under Johann von Leers aka Omar Amin, another Muslim convert in the Nazi Ministry of Propaganda, who praised the persecution of the Jews under Islam as “an eternal service to the world”.

An earlier edition had been published by the brother of future dictator, Gamal Abdel Nasser.

In two years in Egypt, Mein Kampf had sold 911,000 copies, an extraordinary accomplishment in a country with a working age population of 13 million suggesting that as many as one in fourteen adults might have bought a copy. By American equivalent bestseller standards it had outsold the Da Vinci Code.

During those same years the vast majority of Egyptian Jews had been ethnically cleansed by Nasser.

At the beginning of the decade, Muslim Brotherhood godfather Sayyid Qutb had written his own Mein Kampf titled, “Our Struggle against the Jews” in which he claimed that Allah had sent Hitler. The claim has more recently been repeated by the Muslim Brotherhood’s Yusuf al-Qaradawi on Al Jazeera in ’09.

“The last punishment was carried out by Hitler… Allah willing, the next time will be at the hand of the believers,” he said. Today everyone agrees that the Nazis were evil. By the fifties, even Eichmann’s fellow Nazis were looking to jettison the Holocaust and improve their brand. But the Nazis back then were often treated the way that Muslims are today.

Media coverage emphasized distinctions between the radical and moderate Nazis. (Hitler was, of course, a moderate.) Nazi grievances were treated as legitimate. Their crimes were lied about and covered up.

In 1933, the Associated Press’ wire report claimed that the persecution of Jews had already ended. Another wire story headlined “Jew Persecution Over Says Envoy” cited Secretary of State Hull’s relief that the Hitler regime was doing its best to curb further persecution of the Jews.

Hull would later apologize when the Republican Mayor of New York City referred to the Fuhrer as a “man without honor”. Mayor LaGuardia might have been suffering from Fuhrerphobia.

Jewish protests were treated as shrill and baseless alarmism.

“U.S. Investigation Shows No Cause for Protest,” the AP headlined its coverage.

“Notwithstanding assurances given by German government leaders and by Hull that the Nazi excesses against the Jewish race had ceased in Germany, Jewish leaders went ahead with plans for mass protest meetings,” another wire story read. “All requests that these meetings be canceled fell on deaf ears.”

A week before the story, the first official Nazi concentration camp of Dachau had opened.

The media coverage should sound familiar. It’s how Iran’s nuclear buildup is being covered. It’s how Muslim violence against Jews is covered. It’s discussed reluctantly and immediately dismissed. Jews are written off as pests who refuse to listen when Kerry, like Hull, tells them there’s nothing to worry about.

That is how the Holocaust really happened.

Auschwitz just shows us the final stage. It doesn’t show us the sympathy for the Nazis, the willingness of some on the left to see them as allies in overturning the existing system and the anger at the selfishness of the Jews in putting their own desire not to be killed ahead of world peace.

Auschwitz requires more context than just Hitler. It requires that we understand why so many countries and so many world leaders enabled him. And it is not a difficult thing to understand. All we need to do is look at the response to Muslim attempts to kill Jews before and after the Holocaust.

It was easier to appease the Nazis. It is easier to appease the Muslim world. The Jews were not seen as a canary in the coalmine; instead, like the Czechs and then the Poles and then everyone else, they were an obstacle to making a deal with the devil. Today it’s the Nigerian Christians, the Burmese Buddhists and a long list of others around the world including the Jews of Israel who stand in the way of peace.

The Holocaust and the entire war happened because everyone wanted peace with Nazi Germany and refused to accept that Nazism was innately aggressive.

Eichmann envisioned Nazis and Muslims as victims.

“Who are the aggressors here? Who are the war criminals? The victims are Egyptians, Arabs, Mohammedans. Amon and Allah,” Eichmann wrote of the 1956 war.

On the Egyptian side was a long list of Nazis. They, like Eichmann, saw Islam as carrying on their agenda, not only toward the Jews, but toward the West.

The Nazis were not merely anti-Semites. They wanted to tear down civilization and replace it with their own flavor of barbarism.

At war, they had a great deal in common with ISIS, brutally wiping out entire populations, resettling areas and enslaving those they did not kill. Having no contemporary barbarians in Europe to model themselves on, they willingly modeled themselves on the armies of Islam.

The ghosts of Auschwitz are still haunting Sudan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Gaza, Iraq, Iran and a hundred other places. The victims are Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Yazidis and numberless others. The Nazis began with the Jews. The Muslim saying is, “First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people.”

Auschwitz is what happens when we fail to take threats like that seriously because we want peace at any price. The price of peace was Auschwitz, it was millions dead, countries carved to pieces, peoples enslaved for years and others for generations. The price of peace was ignorance, apathy and then war.

Eichmann found support for Auschwitz in the “surahs of your Koran.” So did the Jihadis who murdered Jews in Paris. If we forget that, then we forget the real lesson of Auschwitz.

  1. I always get a chuckle over the nimbots who say there was no holocaust and then go and worship Hitler as a god anyway. Wouldn't that make him a bit of a piker?

Have you ever heard of Walid Shoebat? He says his Grandfather was friends of the Mufti of Jerusalem. He was raised as a potential terrorist but became a Zionist.
He works to expose Islam like you do.

Thank you for writing this and connecting more of the dots that our "fearless" but feckless leaders refuse to see. Don't worry, our fearless leaders are not afraid to throw any of our allies or best military leaders under the bus to prevent the "peace at any price" movement from collapsing.

It is amazing how little coverage or support that Al-Sisi got (actually, I should not be surprised) when he said that Islam must change. Of course, that line of thought and action really worked well for Sadat, King Abdullah of Jordan, and the predecessor to Hitler's acolyte Mufti of Jerusalem.

As far as Allah sending Hitler, he probably did. Of course, any thinking Saturday or Sunday people should realize by now that while YHWH, "Jehovah," and G-d all refer to the same Divine being, Allah is not that same being. I would draw a picture, but those that believe in a great cosmic conflict between good and evil can connect those dots, too.

When it is all said and done, I am appalled at the savagery and vile brutality of the newly self-proclaimed Caliphate. Not surprised, just appalled. I am also appalled by our fifth column Quisling mass media. Today, they just reported in detail (including Fox) how we have been able to track this new wonder woman jihadi on her journey through the front lines, including how they can identify what house she was in. Then they wonder how it is that she has been able to pull this off. Thanks guys for telling our enemies how we track them. I guess these dhimmi dimwits did not figure out that she may be getting around on a carpet, but not a flying one. If they droned that house, they might just take out a senior ISIL person while he is "distracted." "Hey Boss, your ole lady's phone is ringing" "I said I am busy don't disturb-KABOOM. "Hey boss, you and the ole lady still there?"

I see the JP on line is reporting that the EU from Brussels is condemning the King of Jordan for executing those two terrorists. Yah, we get the message from the EU. Talk big, do nothing. It might mean someone may actually have to earn their military pay, pension, and rank. It looks like our generational memories have passed on with the WWII generation. Here we go again. No one believed our parents and grandparents.

In this world of 7 billion people there are only 14 million Jews which amounts to .002% (two tenths of one percent, one penny out of $5.00) but they are 22% of the Nobel Laureates and their discoveries have saved 2.8 billion lives.

In this same world of 7 billion there are 1.5 billion Muslims or 21.4 % and they have produced .009% (barely 1%) of the Nobel Laureates and they have murdered 200 million people.

Who do we condemn and who do we accommodate?

Socialism and Islam began their alliance in the 1920's. Even before the USA became dominant in the world it was already the Great Satan. Germany was already considered the bulwark of socialism against the capitalist Anglosphere and its servants the Jews. The idea behind the alliance was simple. Freedom of choice destroyed the overarching goals of the group which was where real progress was made possible (the Reich and Caliph are similar ideas), immoral or harmful choices were made when direct choice was possible through free markets (we'll ban smoking, weight gain, etc. because you are just a cell within a greater body), the amassing of wealth through work and investment meant that the true ruling class (Reich and Caliph again) could be overturned by the undeserving and on and on and on. Sadly the modern University is built on the collectivist model. A student becomes part of the student body. It is no coincidence it is put that way. It is no coincidence which way they lean.

"Islamic SS" Chilling, especially when I think of the number of Jews killed in the Shoah and current population of Israel. Why don't other people see it?

  8. Thank you for the article.

"Auschwitz is what happens when we fail to take threats like that seriously because we want peace at any price."

Exactly. Cowardice in the face of evil only inflames that evil and goads it to greater, more horrible crimes.

But even worse (a big step downward on the 'rungs of hell') than cowardice in the face of evil is aiding and abetting, actively encouraging, evil as are Obama and company.

  10. My father served in WWII. When I was young, he told me several times that the Germans in the early 20th century were not uneducated, rather, they were among the most highly educated people of the time. This bothered him.

He taught me to beware of totalitarianism. A valuable lesson that I an only now beginning to appreciate.

    Thank you for this piece.

Hamas anchors its Jew-revulsion in the Qur'an: “Ignominy shall be their [the Jews’] portion wheresoever they are found… They have incurred anger from their Lord, and wretchedness is laid upon them…They disbelieved the revelations of Allah, and slew the Prophets wrongfully…They were rebellious and transgressed.” (Surat Al-Imran III, verses 109-111)

Hizballah's founder Hassan Nasrallah once said, "If they (Jews) all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide."

Hamas isn’t about amicable accommodation. It “strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine.” Moreover, calling itself a “humane movement,” Hamas stipulates that “safety and security can only prevail under the shadow of Islam…Members of other religions must desist from struggling against Islam…for if they were to gain the upper hand, fighting, torture and uprooting would follow.”

The Quran puts forward a clear, consistent image of the Jews, calling them dogs, pigs and donkeys as well as scheming, treacherous liars and the most dangerous enemies of the Muslims. This theological tenet provides a basis for Islam’s deeply-rooted anti-Semitism.
Muslims believe that the Jews also refused to believe in the prophets Allah sent to them, even Moses, telling him: “O Moses! We will not believe in thee till we see Allah plainly” (Quran 2:55).In addition, the Quran further claims that the Jews “slew the prophets wrongfully” (2:61).

Muslims believe that whatever the quran says is 'divine' writ and must be believed. Reforming Islam is not possible. The anti-Jewish verses recited by Muslims in their daily prayers is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of the sheer amount of hatred, bigotry and racism in Islam's sacred scriptures that is directed not only at the Jews but at Christians and other non-Muslims as well.

  13. Ok. Excellent article. It's really stupid to believe that pointing out that Nazis and Islamies want to kill Jews. Everybody knows that.

I think the problem is that we don't have a bright line to divide the good from bad. I think that line is the First Amendment. When our leaders start demanding adherence to the First Amendment BEFORE we send aid or issue visas then we can start to see progress. Until then, free people depend on Jews to be the canaries.

  14. It is well documented that the Baath Party, that until recently controlled both Syria and Iraq, has Nazi roots. With the rise of anti-antisemitism in Europe, not only amongst the Muslim population but increasingly amongst the Euros themselves, there is every appearance that in is the early 30's all over again.

None of our political class is raising this alarm even though many tut tut about ISIS and their evil ways. What we are seeing is not just some offshoot of the Muslim mainstream but what the mainstream is becoming. The West, or what remains of it, will continue to dither until, until when? If the 1993 WTC bombing, followed by 911 followed by a succession of attacks here and abroad is not convincing, what is?

We are about to discover just how strongly we believe in ourselves.

  15. One thing that rarely gets mentioned in discussions of crazed, fundamentalist Islam is how paranoid modern Muslim countries frequently are. This paranoia is particularly notable when it involves vast Jewish conspiracies.

Hamas' charter is one of the most bizarre examples of this:

"With their money, they took control of the world media, news agencies, the press, publishing houses, broadcasting stations, and others. With their money they stirred revolutions in various parts of the world with the purpose of achieving their interests and reaping the fruit therein. They were behind the French Revolution, the Communist revolution and most of the revolutions we heard and hear about, here and there. With their money, they formed secret societies, such as Freemason, Rotary Clubs, the Lions and others in different parts of the world for the purpose of sabotaging societies and achieving Zionist interests. With their money they were able to control imperialistic countries and instigate them to colonize many countries in order to enable them to exploit their resources and spread corruption there."

That's right! There's a vast Jewish conspiracy that not only involves the French and Russian revolutions, but also involved the sabotage of American society through the implementation of Rotary Clubs.

Stalin was quite a bit better about resettling entire populations than Hitler ever was. I wish the Russians had never allowed the Chechens to return from Siberia.
