We hear a lot about Liberal self-hating Jews. We don't hear nearly enough about self-hating conservative Jews. We hear a lot about Liberal Jews who are prepared to toss out their Jewish heritage for liberalism but we don't hear nearly enough about Conservative Jews who just as gleefully turn on their Jewishness on behalf of the Christian Religious Right. And their numbers are growing.

The title of the Worldnetdaily article is, 'The Jewish grinch who stole Christmas.' It contains quotes like;

"When it comes to pushing the multicultural, anti-Christian agenda, you find Jewish judges, Jewish journalists, and the American Civil Liberties Union, at the forefront."

"But the dirty little secret in America is that anti-Semitism is no longer a problem in society – it's been replaced by a rampant anti-Christianity."

"It is the ACLU, which is overwhelmingly Jewish in terms of membership and funding, that is leading the attack against Christianity in America...You may have noticed, though, that the ACLU is highly selective when it comes to religious intolerance. The same group of self-righteous shysters who, at the drop of a "Merry Christmas" will slap you with an injunction..."

"I happen to despise bullies and bigots. I hate them when they represent the majority, but no less when, like Jews in America, they represent an infinitesimal minority. I am getting the idea that too many Jews won't be happy until they pull off their own version of the Spanish Inquisition, forcing Christians to either deny their faith and convert to agnosticism or suffer the consequences."

Rantings like this could have easily come from the pen of David Duke. Conservative Christian sites like Worldnetdaily wouldn't normally post something like this as it would give the lie to any claim that they are not anti-semitic. However in this case it was conveniently written by a Jew for a conservative Christian site allowing them to practice anti-semitism behind a Jewish facade.
Burt Prelutsky who penned the piece is one of a group of conservative Jewish figures including Rabbi Daniel Lapin, Michael Medved and Dennis Prager who make a career of being the Jewish axillary for the religious right. Their causes are rarely Jewish but more often a knee jerk advocacy for any religious right issue from prayer in school to defending The Passion to now participating in the defense of Christmas.

We hear a lot about liberal self-hating Jews but increasingly conservative self-hating Jews are catching up to them. The two are really no different. It is only a question of assimilation to the right vs assimilation to the left. Liberal Jews identify with liberalism more than Judaism. Conservative Jews identify more with conservativism which today is dominated by the Christian Rights than with Judaism. Both represent Jewish self-hatred at its nadir.

Let us consider Burt Prelutsky who last seriously worked decades ago and would in the ordinary course of affairs have been long forgotten. Now Burt has a conservative book being sold through Worldnetdaily and people are paying attention to Burt Prelutsky again. And if Burt has to accuse the Jews of being bigots and bullies eager to wipe out Christians to make that happen, it's a good deal for Burt Prelutsky.

Burt Prelutsky once worked in Hollywood you see and in Hollywood you write what they pay you to write. These days Hollywood isn't paying Bert to write anything. The last time anyone there paid him to write anything was a Dick VanDyke tv movie and an episode of Space Precinct, a show you weren't likely to have seen unless you liked to watch tv at 2 in the morning. Bert Prelutsky has a new script now and his script is the same old script those Jews who left their religion and went to the Church acted out.

In his next article, perhaps for easter Burt will accuse the Jews of drinking blood and that will be alright too because though conservative Christian sites pay for and publish the articles, it's okay if a Jew writes them, isn't it?

This post wasn't written to point out how the Religious Right's War on Christmas campaign is taking on increasingly ugly Anti-Semitic overtones. It was written to raise the question of what price those Jews who so shrilly defend the Religious Right that they are prepared to slander Jews in hatefull and vicious ways that are easily the equal of any Anti-Semite are willing to sell their souls for and what is it that distinguishes a self-hating Liberal Jew from a self-hating Conservative Jew besides who they choose to sell themselves to. 9 comments Permalink Email Post (Backlinks)
