Israel signed the Oslo accords in 1993 but negotiations for it began in 1992 - 1992-1993 saw some of the worst disasters in the United States.
from
LemonLime MoonBeginning in December of 1992 a slow moving Nor'Easter battered the Us Coast doing $2.6 Billion dollars worth of damage in New England primarily and causing 19 deaths. As the year pushed along and the Oslo accords came nearer and nearer ,Category 4 hurricane Iniki battered Kauai , Hawaii doing $2.4 Billion dollars worth of damage and leaving 7 dead in her wake.Soon after, Hurricane Andrew became the most devastating hurricane in terms of monetary damage in US history, doing a record $27-$35.Billion dollars worth of damage and leaving 61 people dead.1993 saw drought and heat waves that cost the US $1 billion in damage and at least 16 dead.In March the Storm of the Century hit the US East Coast bringing tornados, high winds and snows and causing over $7 billion dollars worth of damage and 270 people left dead in its wake. In the Fall of 1993 California was ravaged by wild fires that brought a total loss of a billion dollars and 4 deaths. Midwesterners saw floods that left 48 dead and left a bill to pay of a whopping $28 Billion dollars!
YeranenYaakov hereWith all due respect to
Rabbi Gil Student, I don't know how one can't see a Middah Keneged Middah aspect of Hurrican Katrina for the Gaza Evacuation. I don't speak for Hashem, but I'm only writing what my eyes see. The comparisons and timing are clear. Both had:
Massive Evacuations
Looting
Graves being moved
Last strongholds from rooftops
Beach-front homes and businesses being demolished
